Why does Fizz want me to send a photo of my credit card?
I finally received my volte compatible SIM card, and now, to keep my number
for security, I'm asked to send a photo ID and a Photo of my credit card
all anyone needs to clone my identity
WHY?

Hi @ivette
If you received the replacement, you should be able to follow the procedure that you find in the box
otherwise, if you are using the chat, you will need to give them an electronic copy of your id with the credit card used to pay your bill, you can delete the first 12 numbers
This is for security reason, in order to avoid the SIM swap :'(

I thought maybe this was a side hustle for the customer agent...red flags

It's to reduce fraud since a photo is very hard to fake.

no one should ask for a photo of your credit card

photo manipulation is very easy

When you enter your credit card information into a web form you have already given as much information as a photo.

that's my point
the agent wouldn't accept the information I was willing to give

how secure is the chat anyway? same security as a bank webform?

Giving a photo would be no more risky than what you already gave and it confirms you have the card physically rather than used information from the dark web. People using fraudulent card numbers do not go through the trouble to do photo manipulation, even though it is theoretically possible.

I appreciate your time in responding to me Alex, but I guarantee the chat is not as secure as a bank webform, and photoshop is an easy tool to use
