Lost VoLTE option after software upgrade (Galaxy S20 FE 5G)
I used to have the VoLTE option under "Mobile Networks" menu in settings. And VoLTE was working fine, I used to make and receive phone calls and 4G icon was always ON. Now after software upgrade (Android 13) I no longer have that option and there are no further updates to the software. Please help!

Hi @Tarek
Probably the option was moved, did you try to disable the wifi and make a call in order to see if the call stay in LTE/4G?

@Jess_i88b6 I did and it switches to 3G while on a phone call. Also, the feature is there for my other SIM card (it's a dual SIM phone). I tried switching slots but the option only appears for my non fizz SIM. My fizz SIM is VoLTE.

Hi
I checked on my S21FE and the options is not there any more, but when I make a call I am still on LTE
Try to find HD Voice or similar
I am looking for it I found this https://r2.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-A/VoLTE-calls-on-sim1-option-missing-after-update-to-andriod-13/td-p/12700417/page/2

Did you try to reboot the phone?
I tried to reboot it and I don't have the VoLTE option, but I can still make the call staying on LTE
Can you try to enable the roaming option and make a call for test?

I enabled the roaming, still the same issue. It seems something with Fizz, because my other carrier SIM always have the VoLTE option enabled

Yes, same issue

Any news on this?

The issue appear to be on the Fizz side, not on the Samsung one. Try to contact Fizz customer service and see if they can solve the issue

All what they say is, update to the latest software, reset your device, etc.

That's not really helpful... if you really need it you can look for an option to downgrade back to android 12... You can also try restoring the phone to manufacturing condition, which should reset everything but keep the android 13 update

Restoring android 12 is not an option, at least not not officially, which may bring other bugs and issues.
It's crazy how it was working fine with previous software and now with the update I'm stuck!

Unfortunately since the Android 13 upgrade Fizz is preventing VoLTE from working on your phone because it was purchased elsewhere and not on the list. Also restoring last version of Android is not possible.

There are no Samsung dual SIM on the list from what I can see.

You could probably still manually flash android 12, so it is practically possible... you should do it? probably not
0 -
There is a new bootloader with One UI 5.1 so it's not possible to manually downgrade to Android 12...

That is a bummer.

Oh didn't know that... thanks for clarifying that!

I checked my wife's phone (other Samsung model) on Android 13, VoLTE option is gone as well 😢, but during the call LTE stays intact so nothing to worry about 🤣.

Weird... good to know it is still working tho..

Indeed is weird... But @Andrei_ref_R7VK1 makes it sound 🤣 funny

Maybe Samsung's bug?

Every update sounds like ...troubles: it's raining with bugs 🐛

Did you resolve this yet? I have a S20 FE and the same thing happened after the recent update by Samsung

Ah bummer D:, I feel your pain
0 -
Waiting is probably your only option at the moment...
0 -
Apparently only the SM-G781W is allowed to use VoLTE on Fizz...

ohhh this explains it!

That's good ood to know..
