switching to Fizz
The mobile provider I am currently with (third party) is closing tomorrow. I want to switch to Fizz but I need to port my number over by end of tomorrow at the latest or I'll lose my number. Do I have to have the SIM card in hand in order to port the number over? If so, how quickly can I get one sent via mail? Better yet, is there a physical shop anywhere where I could buy one? Thanks.

You can buy it at Couche Tard, Jean Coutu or at several metro stations.

Remember that only phone number from other mobile providers from Quebec or Ottawa region can be transfer to Fizz
Remember to use a referral code, in order to receive 25$ credit on your 2 payment

Rogers is a company that is based all over Canada, there for if you number is not from this coverage area

you will not be able to transfer it to Fizz.
Numbers that cannot be transferred: While the vast majority of phone numbers can be transferred, there are exceptions: If Your phone number if your number starts with an area code outside the Fizz subscription area, your number cannot be transferred.

The number must be active, and you need to confirm the portability confirmation message received by SMS

You can go in a couche-tard, jean coutu or in a vending machine located in a metro station. Sometimes, when you buy on online, let's say on ebay, the seller can give you the code before they ship so you can start porting the number before actually getting the sim card.
