You are not obliged to changed, it will cost more but you can buy a travel addon (one for the voice, one for the data if you want both)

Yes if you buy an addons for the Voice or Data or if you put money in the Fizz Wallet
For the voice is a bit more complicated, Fizz is migrating the plan to the VoLTE technology

If you activated your plan after March 2022 you should be already on VoLTE. Travel add-on or money in your Fizz wallet can do the trick.
In case you will not be able to call or receive calls there's a workaround: force your phone to 2G and choose T-Mobile manually.

You don't have to change your plan because the change will take place in the next billing period which could be after 13 days from now (you should check). Your second option is to buy the travel add-on other users already suggested. Your third option is to add money to your wallet and just do pay-per-use (most expensive option). Finally, only if you joined after march 16th 2022 you have volte service. If you joined before you will not be able to do any call in the usa, even with the add-ons.
