is it safe to give out my deactivated SIM card?
Friend of friend is looking for a Fizz SIM card, and I have an deactivated one sitting around due to long story short.. porting over phone number to Fizz.
My question is: is it safe to give my old deactivated SIM card to stranger? Will that expose my previous Fizz account information?

Yes it is.
Since the SIM is not connected to you anymore.
You can also ask to the support, here we are only users
• Sign into your account
• Follow the link on this page: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/im-unable-log-my-fizz-account-what-do-i-do
• Wait 3 seconds for the green bubble with a '❔' appears at the bottom right of the browser, if you use a phone you must use it in desktop or horizontal mode
• Choose the option 💬 chat
• If the green bubble does not appear make sure your ad blocker is disabled, otherwise try with another browser.

I'm not certain because under My Plan, I can still see my deactivated phone number with an reactivate button.

You can reactivate your plan within 60 days, only from your account
However, after the new billing cycle started, the SIM can be reused.
You can always ask to Fizz's the support

Just talked to Fizz. Rep said 2 hrs after deactivated, then can give it out safely.

Good to know, therefore, your account will be active till the end of the billing cycle but without a card associated with it (at the exception if you are in the 15 days trial period)

from their guide
Once your request to unsubscribe is submitted, the deactivation of your plan will be done at the end of your payment cycle. In other words, you can use your plan until the end of your payment cycle since Fizz is a prepaid mobile service.

Did you try eventually. As far as I knew, with other carriers you cannot reuse the same sim. Once it is deactivated it become garbage. Probably this is not true with Fizz... good to know
