Here is 3 of my recommendations.
In the mindbending Syfy genre: Dark (all 3 seasons out, you are not gonna regret this one)
More in the fantasy genre: The Witcher (new season this winter)
Not syfy but insanely good: Vikings (all 6 seasons already out)

Also, there was a SyFy channel which was re-branded as CTV Sci-Fi. I think in US there still is a SyFy channel. No idea if any cable providers here have it.
I assume he is interested in sci-fi series in general.
