Hi, his is not related to the mobile plan but to the compatibility of the Fizz network:

    • Compatible with the Fizz network
    • Able to support the frequencies of our network
    • Certified VoLTE (not required before the 3G withdrawal, but nonetheless recommended)

Android > The majority of Android phones sold in North America in the last five (5) years are compatible with Fizz.

What is presented on Amazon (UMIDIGI F3S - Android) is that it is compatible with 4G LTE "(Dual Sim + Global LTE Bands ) UMIDIGI Unlocked smartphones supports dual LTE 4G, allowing you to enjoy 4G networks anytime.

The VoLTE (4G) service at Fizz will be active in spring 2023. Currently calls are made on the 3G network.

To complete the information: if you are going to the USA and if you want to make and receive calls/texts, it is necessary that you have subscribed from March 16, 2022.

If you became a mobile member ON or AFTER March 16, 2022.

Your plan should already be activated with a VoLTE compatible SIM card. If you are using a VoLTE-certified phone updated with the latest software update, calls and texts will work in the U.S.”

Unfortunately, if you subscribed before March 16, you will not be able to receive and make calls and texts.

    https://fizz.ca/en/faq/why-do-some-calls-and-texts-when-us-not-work

In the latter case, you can use the data from your Canada+USA plan to make and receive calls/texts with the following applications: WhatsApp, Google Duo, Facetime and Messenger. These apps use data and do not require voice coverage.

One important thing to know is that Fizz limits the use of its partner networks after the period of three (3) consecutive payment cycles.

« We reserve the right to interrupt or block access to our network of partner providers if you use your mobile service primarily on their networks for 3 consecutive payment periods.”

    Hoping this useful information.
