Transfer a number after activation

Hi Fizz, how can I transfer my phone number to my Fizz account after activation?

When I activated my Fizz service over a month ago, I created a new phone number. I wanted to see how Fizz service worked both locally in Ottawa and then when traveling. I maintained my original phone number and service with a previous provider.

I've now seen that Fizz service performs much better than my old service, and would like to transfer the number of my old service to my Fizz account.

Is that possible?

Thanks,

Brian

    Hello @brianp ,

Thank you for being part of the Fizz community!

In this conditions yes, the best way is to transfer your current number here (from the current provider you will need either the account number or the IMEI of your phone you are using at the current provider.

You can find more information about the process from this FAQ: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/activation-how-do-i-transfer-my-current-phone-number-to-fizz

As for the deactivation of the current number you have at Fizz, the steps from your account will be: My plans -> Manage plan -> Unsubscribe. Note that since we are a prepaid services, the plan will be deactivated at the end of your current cycle, not immediately after you make the order. Also, do this before you enter the last 108h of the current cycle (those last hours are a freeze period and only changing the payment methods and payments will work)

Once the current plan will be suspended(deactivated) you will be able to use the SIM to transfer your number here, however if you want to transfer it before this will happen, you will need another Fizz SIM and you can keep this as a back-up in case you will need in the future a change SIM.

You can find more about the unsubscribe from here: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/unsubscribe

I am counting on your understanding and I wish you a great day,

    Hello,

Unfortunately, this is not possible :(

However, you can create a new plan on the same account, import your number and close the first plan.

OK thanks. I guess the best way is to unsubscribe my current Fizz plan, and order a new SIM?
