Is it possible to buy more than 1gb when travelling to Europe? It only gives 1gb for 5$.

The most you can buy is 1 GB at a time. There shouldn't be any issue to repeat the same purchase multiple times. You can let us know.

Do know that Add-Ons are active immediately. They’re valid until the end of your next payment cycle.
In other words, if there are 10 days left on your current payment cycle, your Add-On will be valid for approximately 40 days.
