EMSB is the Engish Montreal School board
Some browsers have VPN option built in and will be automatically enabled for privacy reasons. Did you try another browser ?
Trying going to this web page to see what it returns as info about your connection.
Will give you a good idea on your IP and it's geolocation.

Fizz is all Canadian (it is a subsidiary of Videotron) Check your antivirus settings, sometimes they also block some trafic
Also please specify what EMSB is, this may help us help you.

Hello @hohobar, did you make any changes to the device/browser that you use to log in to the EMSB? I have some suggestions below, post to the forum what resolves the issue for you.
- update your operating system, software and apps and clear the data cache/cookies
- reset your browser to factory/standard settings and then tailor your desired settings
- if a browser reset doesn't resolve it, consider removing and re-installing the browser or try another browser
- browsers with built-in VPNs require the user to enable the VPN in settings and manually or automatically turn it on....look in your browser settings under security
- connect with the IT dept of the EMSB and describe your set up....phone/computer type, Android/MAC/Windows, browser, etc.
Funny, Fizz is a QC company and without using a VPN or false location app/software, your IP address should appear to be in QC.
