It seems that my smsc number is incorrect. I suspect that I mistyped it at some point. However I can no longer find any way to edit this. It is greyed out in my messaging apps (either samsung or google) and the standard keycode doesn't work on the A52.

So how do I edit the smsc??

BTW, I purchased the A52 from Fizz.

None of those methods work on my A52. I tried all variations for the last 2 hours. I had to put the Sim into another phone to edit it.

    Hi

    Have you tried these steps?

    Select Messages

    1. Select Messages.
    2. Select the Menu button.
    3. Select Settings.
    4. Select More settings.
    5. Select Text messages.
    6. Select Message Centre.
    7. Enter the Message centre number and select Set.

    An alternative way to set the message center number on Android is as follows;

    1. Open your phone's dial pad.
    2. Dial *#*#4636#*#*
    3. Select Phone Information.
    4. Select SMSC Setting Option.
    5. Update or set New Message Center Number.
    6. Restart your Android phone.
    7. You are now ready to send or receive SMS.

    Hi,

make sure your phone is correctly configured for the Short Message Service Center (SMSC).

The number configured in your phone must be: 1-438-520-0092.

The process can vary from one phone model to another. Here are two examples:

Verification on Android: Applications → Touch the Messaging icon → Context Menu (the three points at the top of the screen) → Settings → More Settings → Text Messages

Editing on Android: Dial *#*#4636#*#* from your phone keypad → Phone Information → SMSC: Update with +14385200092

Verification on iPhone: Dial *#5005*7672# → Press the key to place the call.

Editing on iPhone: Dial **5005*7672*+14385200092# → Press the key to place the call.

*Most phones allow you to enter the ''+'' character by holding down the ''0'' key for a few seconds.

I suggest that you contact Fizz’s support team directly to inquire about that issue, they will be able to do some further investigation to correct this situation. You can do it by opening the following link: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/status-services and simply scroll down until you see the green bubble, than click on it to start your chat session with the customer service.

If the chat bubble still does not appear at the bottom of the page, on the right, after a few seconds, the number of pending sessions is higher than the service’s processing capacity. At that time, you can leave a message on the other proposed communication channels:

-By private message on Facebook/Messenger: https://facebook.com/fizzca.

-By private message on Twitter : https://mobile.twitter.com/fizz_ca

    -Whatsapp : (438) 393-5814

The support team helped me identify the problem, but could not help me update the smsc.

    Google wasn't very helpful either.
