It's probably correct. This is a common misconception from those requesting data.
@erifor2 , to receive data coming from someone's paid regular data, your own mobile plan must be active and have a data plan (empty or not). Perks and Upgrades are not considered part of the data plan.
Just to keep expectations clear, even if this would happen you'd receive it in one single account. Considering that you cannot donate data that was gifted to you (except from Fizz), you'd have to do tethering/hotspoting for your spouse and child to use it.
