Internet fee
Hello guys,
Just got a letter from Ebox about rate increase in 2022. It’s not a huge increase but it’s more about the fact a lot of thing going on with them. I had to fight to be able to keep paying with me credit card because they decided to make change in their payments option.
So about Fizz, does it happen often to get fee increase for internet ?
Thanks !

Hi Jean-Simon,
since I’ve been with Fizz, there’s never been a change in the price of my internet plan, but here’s what the FAQ says:
"We’ve always been fair and transparent with you, and we plan on keeping it that way: the price of your monthly plan is not exempt from a potential increase to keep up with inflation and continue to invest in our networks. But rest assured that if such an increase were to come, you would be notified at least 30 days in advance.".

Fizz is a prepaid service so there are no fixed term prices for their services both mobile and Internet. Fizz hasn't increased its pricing but I've observed has become more competitive, especially with higher data mobile plans. This said, costs are rising in the economy and companies will have to either absorb those costs or find other ways to compete. I would not expect Fizz to raise prices, it mainly tries to compete on price and lets its parent, Videotron, duke it out with the bigger providers on other aspects.

Welcome to Fizz 🤗
Few more tips:
- cancel Ebox ONLY AFTER you are satisfied with Fizz, meaning have them both working at the same time to compare them. Plan the installation preferably in the morning, sometimes delays force a rescheduling. Another benefit is that you won't risk loosing internet service. A spliter might be required, otherwise just alternate the coaxial cable.
- Usually people are happy with Fizz, especially if they have their own personal router. If you experience issues simply come back in this forum.
- If you need a referral code, many have them in their name, others post in this page .
Cheers and happy new year! 🎆🎉✨

I was with B2B2C. They sent me an increase in their price too 2 weeks ago. Even if the promise me too never have an increase. I call them an they said « quit if you are not happy ». So I quit too Fizz. Extremly happy. Easy an good price with bonus and rebate.

Once you signed up for your plan, the prices stays the same for as long as you stick with that plan and don’t make any changes. In other words: You lock in the price at the time you sign up.
Fizz has no contracts so should a cheaper price become available you can always switch.
Right now, Fizz is also giving a 50$ referral bonus when you sign up with them :)

Hello @jeasimon
So rare that it happened only once and only for a few select clients (who signed up during/before the stabilization period) and the upgrade resulted to less than the current rate at the times so not a big deal, especially when you look at other providers who upgrade every year like you experience now with Ebox.
On that, Fizz wording is clear:
[...] if you see a plan or price that would be better for your wallet, grab it. [...] you get to enjoy it for as long as you want.
Source: https://fizz.ca/en/unique-philosophy , paragraph 1 "Change your price without having to negotiate"
Basically, Fizz change plans every now and then. But a price increase for everybody (and I mean ALL clients) never happened. So make sure you grab the plan that corresponds to your needs for the long run. It will then become a grand-fathered plan.
You keep the price as long as you don't change. Nevertheless Fizz keeps the right to change it with a 30-day notice.

Thank you for all your response. It’s very much appreciated :)
It will certainly help me to make a better choice for the long haul.

Fizz launch 2 years ago. They had different kind of pricing. I hear from friends who work internally that they will raise early this year just like parent company Videotron do annually (around March). Do not expect price to remain the same forever (it's not written in the TOS for no reasons).
I would call or email EBOX to see if they can do something about it.
