is it safe to enter my bank's online username and password on paybright’s website instead of redirecting me to my bank’s website?

Why would they need your username and password ? Any service that needs to authenticate you using banking credentials will redirect you there, or a popup, and use and backend API to get any authentication tokens. Just like Revenu QC, Revenu Canada, and any other services.

Call me paranoid, but there is no way I would enter my banking credential DIRECTLY on some other website.

I agree, sounds crappy, a redirect like on the CRA website is fine, but asking plainly I wouldn't trust.
