Hello there!

I have a new Lenovo M10 tablet with MAC address 2a:49:68:b9:d7:1a. when I try to add address as a managed device in my Hitron router -> Security -> Device filter, it complains that MAC address is not valid!

any suggestion what is wrong?

Thanks,

Ali

Many public hotspots are now not allowing clients to connect when using this Android feature. I had it enabled on my phone (which was default), and when I was in the hospital recently and tried to connect to their public WiFi, it complained that I needed to use my real MAC. Before that message, I had no idea that this feature was on by default.

ok so, it turns out the MAC randomisation is enabled by default on Android 10, which causes generating this invalid MAC addresses! updating to the latest release and using "Device MAC" for connecting to my wifi access point resolved the issue!
