New contacts disappear

Since the last update with visual voice mail, every time I add a new contact, it disappears as soon as I send them a text message. If I add them back and connect it to an existing contact, it reappears in the list of contacts I can add it to. Anyone else having this issue?

    Which phone do you have? iPhone or Android? I haven't had any problems so far on iOS.
