Why does fizz not have live support

They do have live chat support.
To access it, go to Help -> Solutions Hub -> Any of the 4 categories at the bottom -> Any entry in the list
A green "?" should appear at the bottom right of your screen. Select chat and wait for someone to respond to your query.

Because it is the "bargain/cheaper" version of videotron internet. They have chosen this business model in order to save costs and be able to offer a cheaper service.
There are obviously pros and cons to this model.
If you need to talk to anyone, then there are ways to live chat, or leave messages via various methods outlined here:

"Live chat" isn't really that "live", it can still take a few hours before they answer you. But yes, as others have said, it's to save money and keep costs low, if you want a similar service, but with phone support, you could check eBox.
