As Mike Suggested hook up your computer directly with the supplied RJ45 cable, and test it with Videotron Speed test.
Here is the URL for the speed test https://videotron.speedtestcustom.com/
Here's some info from Videotron, which is the same as Fizz

Hi @Stef ,
I'm sorry to learn about the inconvenience you're experiencing.
I tried to check on your connection from my end but I couldn't find your Fizz Home Internet plan on the account linked to the e-mail address you have here.
In this situation, I highly recommend and kindly invite you to contact us directly so we could assist you with this matter as soon as possible.
Here you can find more information about how you can do that: https://fizz.ca/en/contact-us
Thank you very much for your understanding, patience and collaboration.
Have a good one!
Andrei

@StefS Did you testing using the WiFi? In order to have a real number you should tested with a 1 Gb ethernet cable
Here you can find some guide, such as the band steering, https://fizz.ca/en/faq/my-wi-fi-network-slow-how-do-i-make-it-faster, if nothing works for you, stay in the guide and click on the green bubble on the bottom right corner and select chat in order to be in contact with a Fizz's customer agent.

Buy a router and put your Fizz modem in bridge mode and plug your router in it.
The wifi of the Fizz modem is not very good.

The router part of Fizz modem seems to be a concern for a lot of peoples, so maybe you should follow the advice of Jean-Michel.

It might be your device, some old device cant handle that speed

I have the same plan (120Mbps DL / 20Mbps) and it works perfectly, even with the Fizz equipment. Maybe it has something to do with your location?

Thank you for your reply. However, even with Wifi, I am right beside the router. Whether I'm on 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz, there shouldn't by such a drop in speed. I'm beginning to suspect the Fizz team has hooked us up on a 50Mbps plan rather than the 120Mbps plan we signed up for.
Also thank you for the link. However, the Chat and the Messenger buttons do not appear to be working. Only the Forum and the FAQ buttons work.

Try to use the French one to see if you can chat

Using 2.4GHz can make a big difference by the way; I also have the 120Mbps plan and it tops at around half the asked on the 2.4Ghz band but I get full 132Mbps on the 5Ghz band.
