Buy a phone for someone else

Hi, i have a monthly plan with fizz. My daughter needs a new phone and i’d like to buy it through their phone shop. Will they bother me and insist that i activate the new phone with my sim card? It’s the same phone i have, except the one i’d buy is second chance. Anyone did this recently? Thanks!
