How does coverage work
I live in ottawa which is in the green subscription area.
If I go to toronto tomorrow, which is outside the subscription but in the red coverage area for canada that my account has - how does that affect my usage?
I should have service but will that cost me additional money?

You will be covered in Toronto at no extra cost if you chose Canada or USA + Canada (so not the Quebec coverage).
The signal might show Fizz-EXT depending on partnerships. More on partners here ↗️.
Your coverage area is where you can use your Fizz plan without paying roaming fees.

Know that you cannot use the expanded area for a period longer than 3 consecutive months. See the page about that.
Fun fact: The Quebec coverage area also includes Ottawa.

Absolutely. It is the plan, not just calls.
So SMS as well.

Thanks. And that applies for data usage as well?

Hello!
Please note, that if you are outside your coverage zone, you may need to activate mobile roaming data to use Internet on mobile.

Good point @Sergii C.
Make sure roaming is activated and that you have the Canada plan. Up to three months you can use the extended coverage area, maybe even longer if you don’t use a tonne of data.

It’s kind of like how wind mobile used to work! You pay for the zone that you want basically.
Quebec only, coverage on fizz network within Quebec only (which wouldn’t really apply to you I know).
Canada, which would get you access to Fizz’s network (Quebec and some parts of ontario from the border to Ottawa/Gatineau area) and an extended network for the rest of Canada. This is essentially hopping on videotron’s partner network negotiated with Rogers and Telus.
And Canada /US is the Canadian network as described above with US roaming.
Hope that helps!
