Hi Michael
Sorry once you sign up, you cannot put your plan on hold.
The options are:
1. Before you leave, change to the lowest plan ($10) and then select the plan you want from the list of available plans prior to your return.
2. Unsubscribe and resubscribe when you are back.
FYI you can use Fizz mobile service while you are in USA. So there is a 3rd option available to you: Select the Canada/USA coverage for your plan.
More details available here: https://fizz.ca/en/coverage
https://fizz.ca/en/faq/partner-networks
BTW if you're a new customer, be sure to use a referral code to receive your $25 credit from Fizz.
If you need a referral code, there is a list here:
https://community.fizz.ca/questions/2198337-place-referral-codes?answers_page=16
You can choose mine or the code of someone who has helped you.
To be transparent, both parties will receive the bonus credit once you have paid your second bill.6 -
Thank you for the detailed reply.
One other question, can I switch my monthly plan to canada/usa coverage before I go to the states in order to use FIZZ when I'm there, and then switch back to only Canada coverage when I return?
and lastly I'm with speakout wireless, how long does it take to port number over to fizz?6 -
Michael,
Yes you can change your plan each month as needed. Just make sure to put in your change request at least 48 hours prior to your renewal date:

Yes you can transfer your mobile number. Usually the transfer is completed on the same day.
Please read the Fizz help FAQ for complete details:

You can changed your plan each month. But you can cut it and keep it and when you change it your loose the old one (so if its no more exist or you still have a lowest price you will loose it). Have a nice day6

You can absolutely switch to US coverage. Just keep in mind that the change becomes actives next payment cycle. It would actually be a very good idea to do it2

You can change your plan to the minimum and return it when you come back but be aware that any change will be active next payment1
