Thanks Whizz for the update.
For a short term solution, we can change the DNS on the Fizz modem.
On your browser, go to http://192.168.0.1/ (username: cusadmin and your wifi password)
Make this change for now and your internet will work.18 -
My friend Fizz,
When we are paying for something that is not working properly the provider usually offer some discounts. At least this is the way my old provider did.16 -
Is it "some" members issues or everyone's? Had to search for an internet from restaurant nearby to see this post. Neither phone data nor internet is functioning but fizz only operates online...16

Hi Hyunjun
Change the DNS settings on your device or phone, and it should work again.
Go on device settings:
Obtain DNS: Manual (instead of Automatic)
DNS1: 8.8.8.8
DNS2: 8.8.4.418 -
Hi Guys,
I had online Class and I was impacted, either home and cell internet was offline.
So now I'm asking for compensation, otherwise I'm to walk away from something more reliable this is not acceptable to have both internet off.

It would be awesome if we could be notified when something is wrong so that we can avoid the frustration of trying to reboot, etc.12

@Rohan pi-hole on its own would not have addressed this issue. I use pi-hole and was still impacted because my upstream DNS at the modem level is still Fizz/Videotron's. What's worse is that I couldn't find this article since my phone is also on Fizz and my mobile data wasn't working. Then again, my modem is in bridge mode with my own router and in recent weeks Fizz has removed remote access to the modem (previously available at 192.168.100.1) while in bridge mode. So, even with this info, I could not have made the change unless I would have done a factory reset of the modem and stopped using my own router hardware. This was a very ugly outage compounded by some questionable recent decisions. I kinda miss having a support phone number I could call...14
