5g speed on fizz mobile?

Hi !! With the new iPhones coming out I am wondering, is fizz planning on having a 5g speed limit available? Or will it just max out at standard LTE speed? Thanks you !!

There's no announcement yet from Whizz. Expect Videotron to offer it first.

Videotron states: "Like all Canadian mobile providers, Videotron has already started deploying its 5G network. Our experts are working to optimize our facilities to implement 5G in selected urban areas in December 2020. Our 5G network will then be gradually rolled out to cover our entire mobile network over the next few years."

Fizz is a MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) for Videotron, I doubt it will come at the same time. The infrastructure for 5G can be quite pricey as it requires more antennas than a regular 4G LTE network. The 5G network is a high frequency waves that cannot travel well through walls and windows and get weaker by distance, which means that carriers like Videotron and other implementing 5G will have to install more tower.

It probably will then be offered to the client that bring a higher ''average revenue per user'' first. Has 5G become the norm and 4g become more obsolete, we will probably start seeing smaller MVNO like FIZZ get the upgrade

Hi there,
Fizz uses Videotron's cell network that currently only supports LTE. However Videotron is working on installing 5G into their cell network. After Videotrod does this Fizz users will be able to get 5G speeds on their 5G enabled devices if they are in a supported area.
