Are your other services (calls and texting) working well?
You can also try manually selecting one of the FIZZ-EXT networks. You will be roaming but you are permitted to do so as long as you keep roaming use to a minimum (and less than 3 months).13 -

Wait a few seconds to see the green chat bubble down to the right of the page.

As Lieux wrote, you can contact Fizz support by chat for help, from 8 AM to 9 PM every day:
1- Connect to your Fizz account by clicking « Login » in the top right corner at fizz.ca
2- Any ad blockers in your browser should be disabled.
3- Click on this link: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/how-do-i-use-my-phone-to-access-the-internet
4- The green chat bubble should appear after a few seconds in the bottom right corner.12 -

The short answer to your question is your mobile data connection will be slow if you are far away from a cellphone tower and if lots of other cellphones access that same tower.
You can try manually selecting Fizz under network settings and/or forcing your device to run on 3G (different phones have different procedures but here is a link for most. Use it only if you are somewhat technical....https://www.dtechy.com/change-2g-3g-4g-network-android/).
