I had to restart Fizz router almost once per week because the internet cuts and some lights turn off.
I highly suggest Fizz communicates with Hitron to add "scheduled restart" in the next router software update, and that Fizz recommends all users to set a daily restart to their modem.
This will eliminate many users complains

I don’t think it will be feasible. Imagine you need internet at 2am, and suddenly it just shuts down!10

Hi George
You can use a smart plug or timer to restart your modem as often as you need it.
Note that some customers have reported having their modem running for many months without any issues.9 -
@Victoria: you seem that you are not aware of what I'm talking about. Scheduled restart is an option that exist in the majority of routers brands. It allows the user to set up the frequency of restarting (daily or weekly or monthly) and what hour 2am or 3am or 5 am ...etc. The user may turn on or turn off this feature. It's optional.
@Fizzy: thanks for the idea but a timer has a ticking sound that you will hear when your tv or radio is off. Maybe I can do some research to have an electronic timer (no moving part) to avoid that ticking9 -
Hi George
Smart plug can be used and it will be quiet. It has no moving parts.9 -
Good idea as a workaround... If the modem needs a reboot regularly, the real answer would be to fix the connectivity issue.
On my end, I'm with Virgin mobile for home internet, and with all the connected devices on my home network, and the interference on the 2.4ghz caused by the neighbors, I installed a mesh network (Google WiFi) behind the modem, deactivated the WiFi on the modem/router combo provided by the ISP, and my problem has been fixed... Fast speed and no more modem reboot.8 -
Interesting post! Thanks5

@George oh ok, sorry, i didn’t understand what you meant. If it’s optional, it might not hurt anyone!8
