Hello,
I did notice yesterday that when my modem become hot the connection become unstable and I got some spike.
I first noticed it playing online, then I tried to ping google.fr -t and I got some timeout. Same with a wired connection.
I turned off the modem for 10min, start it again and it passed.
Any idea ?

Keeping your your modem (electronics) as cool as possible is a good idea. Is there somewhere else (a cooler place) that you can position the modem?
Depending on your answer, another course of action would be to chat with customer support because the modem might be defective.
They're available everyday from 8 AM to 9 PM:
1- Connect to your Fizz account by clicking « Login » in the top right corner at fizz.ca
2- Click on this link: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/whats-my-rewards-program
3- The green chat bubble should appear after a few seconds in the bottom right corner.
Best of luck!!!11 -
Laurent,
Have you reseted your modem?
Press in 35,40 seconds with a pin the reset button (back in the center of your modem).
Released it after and wait 3,4 minutes to see all the lights of the modem coming back.
If your computer is connected to your modem with an ethernet câble, you will see on the screen:
Easy connect.
Types twice the factory password (back of your modem.
Your internet connexion is supposed to be 100%, fonctionnal.
Reconnect all your devices with this password to your wi-fi network.
I hope it will resolve your problem.11 -
What is spike? Never heard of such a problem with fizz modems.9

Thanks all for your answers but hot or not, the quality should not be impacted as much. I can't control when the weather is too hot unfortunately.
I could try the reset button but since the modem is in bridge mode, I am not using it at all, neither for the router par, neither for the wifi.
I just think the hardware inside is not a good quality and doesnt like the heat.7 -
Interesting question, would like to know the answer as well. Stumbled upon something quite similar9

Hi Laurent! Ah ok, I see, thanks for the heads up. No idea though who can help you here with that. Seems to be very technical question!7

Hi Laurent.
Ask a fizz rep to receive a new modem with a technician in your home.
Have a nice day, it's been a pleasure.7 -
I just wanted to add to what Simon said, the modem only has passive cooling, therefore keep the modem in a isolated area with no obstructions, do not place anything too close or on top of your modem or it might overheat.6
