USB port speed

Hi,
I connected a hard drive with a USB 3 cable on the USB port on the back of my modem.
However, the transfer rate between my PC (Windows 10 Pro) and this hard drive via WIFI never goes above 1 Mb/second, more or less.
I know that the bottleneck is not the hard drive, nore the cable. And I browse the Internet from my PC at 30 Mbps.
What can I do to increase the transfer rate with this USB port?
Thank you. :-)

Hi Axel.
You can add an Thunderbolt PCI-e Card and buy a Thunderbolt External SSD.
Have a nice day,
Sincerely, Matt.9 -

Hi Mathieu,
Thank you for your answer!
Where do I plug this card? On my modem?
Can you point me on the right products on Amazon?
Thanks.6
