Connecting my existing wifi router without bridge

I read everywhere that I have to disable the Fizz wifi and switch to bridge mode in order to use my existing router.
However I just plugged my existing router to Fizz modem and it's working.
I'm wondering why it's required on Fizz website to switch to bridge mode and turn off fizz wifi to be able to connect the client existing router?

I guess it's recommended to minimize bugs. If it worked for you, it doesn't mean that it will work for everyone, eh?

It's not required. It's only a recommendation from Fizz.
    1) It would save energy usage (no routing, no wifi, no dhcp etc ... this will save energy)
    2) It will reduce wifi traffic .
I had 2 routers connected running for years without problem ( including VOIP ).
