Switching to FIZZ from videotron mid cycle!

Hi Hisham, they usually charge you for the month regardless if you switch the 1st day or the last day. I'd advise you to get at least your appointment date with the technicien that way you're not stuck with no internet at all. It's fine if they overlap temporarily. Hope this helps!12

I've never been with Videotron but most carriers only bill you for the days you used if you cancel mid month so it should be fine to switch whenever you decide.11

You should be ok to switch whenever but best bet is for you to ask Videotrom how their billimg cycling works.11

I've transfered from Videotron mid-cycle and they credited me the remaining time of my internet data plan.11

Hi Hisham,
For mobile services, it depends on whether your current account is prepaid or postpaid.
- With prepaid (like Fizz mobile), you will not be refunded for your unused days if you switch out mid-cycle.
- With postpaid (like Videotron), your bill is prorated and you will be refunded the difference for your unused days. However if you bought a phone from your provider and signed a contract, your last bill will include whatever amount is still owing on your phone.
.
Since you are with Videotron, it does not matter on which day you switch. Just remember, you have to request the number switch at the same time when you activate/pay for your Fizz plan.

BTW I hope you know that new customers will benefit from the current $35 promo.
Use a referral code in order to receive $35 until July 14 (after that, it's back to $25).

Hi!
The best thing to do is to switch on the 1st day of the billing cycle.
Have a nice day!9 -
Hi EDMTrance, why do you recommend to switch on the first day of the billing cycle?9
-
You can switch at any time, if you paid alreay for the cycle to come they will refund you the difference. But first you need to take an appointement with a Fizz tech. When you know your installation date, you contact videotron to tell them you want to disconnect on the same day you'll be installed. Hope it's helping you out.7

Normally, they will refund you the extra you paid for the current bill cycle. Its what Fido did for me and others.6
-
Alex_L, please note that Hisham is referring to mobile services, not home internet.
CaptFanta has it correct for Fido postpaid plans.6 -
Hisham,
If you decide to activate your new plan with Fizz in the mid-cycle, Videotron will close your account and you'll get an invoice only for the day of your usage.6 -
If the problem is resolved, could you please close the question.4

From my experience, if you're on fix plan, it doesn't matter. They should bill you for the % of the month that you've used their service. I would go more with , when do you want your billing to start with your new supplier3
-
You'll be charged for the days you used in the month. But let's say that the longest you seek for information about that the higher the bill from Videotron ;-)4

Most companies will _ Prorate_ which means that they should repay any part of the month that you have given them Official notice of no longer using their services.
So any time is as good as another4
