Slower internet speed?

Anybody else experiencing slower internet speeds these days? I am plugged in through an ethernet port but my download speeds are only 4-5 mps as opposed to 10 mbps. Are they throttling speeds due to the stay at home situation? I didn't see anything from Fizz suggesting this.
Thanks.
Thanks.

It can be a problem in your sector, I lucky, living in an old neighbourhood.
For the moment I have my speed.7 -
Harris,
On the south shore of Mtl, I've noticed nothing different about my internet.
It depends maybe of your neighbourhood.5 -
Hmm I guess so, I'm in downtown Montreal, it used to be fine because I would regularly monitor my speed but as of maybe the past week or so I see that it is half of what it should be...4

I signed up in December and experienced a slow down in speed this week, my issue was resolved by powering down the Fizz Modem, and my personal router. Waited about two minutes powered on the fizz modem saw all lights come on (about another 2 minutes) and then brought my router back online. restarted my devices on my network and my speed went right back to full and has been fine since. The modem had not been restarted since installation so about 4 months, I think it just needed to restart.7

Hi, try restarting your modem. This may reset the speed for you.
If there is no change, then it may be as Mike wrote. Your speed can be limited due to maximum bandwidth capacity being reached in your area.
As more people are staying at home, the current situation is affecting the internet around the world. And companies like youtube are trying to help by limiting their video quality.6 -
Yeah that's what I was wondering but normally the company would state that they are reducing speeds etc. But yeah I'll try restarting the modem, I had restarted it maybe a month or so back when there were issues with it but I'll try again and see if that does the job. Thanks everyone for the replies. It just kinda sucks it's happening now seeing as we are two at home working from home and have video calls and work stuff to do etc. I'll try some stuff and see, thanks!0
