I believe Fizz had to adapt the price of SIM Card. In the beginning during beta, the SIM card was $1.
Then it changed to $5 and is now landed at $10.
The good news with Fizz is that the SIM card is reusable, not disposable like other carriers.

I bought my sim last year in November and I paid 5$. The price has been 10$ for a few months already. So the ad that you have is from last year.6

The regular price is 10$, unless you have a valid promotion.
Here is my reference code 4PJMD if you want to save 25$ on your 3rd bill. You enter it when you choose your plan.5 -
Yes, Fizz SIM is now 10$ including shipping. I think they aligned their price to other carriers. For example, Lucky Mobile also charges 10$ for SIM / new activation.4
