Is there any plan to expand to more rural areas? ie Smiths Falls, Montague Township, Carleton Place, Almonte?
As it is a cellular based service, why is there a restriction? Bell/Rogers towers access/contracting?

So is there any plan to expand beyond Ottawa west and southwest to the more rural areas?1

They're a mvno of Videotron. They are unlikely to spread beyond the areas where videotron operates cell phone service.1

Could they expand west of Ottawa? Probably. Videotron has the spectrum licenses for it. Will they? Probably not. It's likely too small of a customer pool for the investment required. There might also be some contractual obstacles with their agreement with Rogers that prevents them from expanding any further into Ontario. Anyway I wouldn't count on it in. Videotron has been in the Ottawa market for a long time as hasn't expanded their reach at all in that time.0

I believe the subscription area (eligibility) is based on where Videotron is providing mobile or internet services. Right now, it is in the province of Quebec and in the Greater Ottawa area. Remember that Fizz is subsidiary of Videotron. If Videotron is providing the service you want to your community, you should be eligible to get the same service with Fizz.0

Hey Jason,
Thanks for sharing your idea/suggestion! Not in our immediate plans, but who knows what the future holds.....

They will only be able to service the area that Videotron uses are they use their towers. If you're not in the videotron coverage area, you won't be able to use Fizz unless you are roaming.0

Fizz is essentially tied to what Videotron operates. They will not be able to go beyond areas that Videotron does not operate.1
