Roaming in Saskatchewan doesn’t seem to work?

I am in Saskatchewan for Christmas. As soon as we left Saskatoon, data and text messaging quit working. I don’t think I am receiving calls. I can attempt to make calls but I hear very loud static over a very faint error message. The Fizz coverage map shows this area as covered. My phone is showing 4 bars and 3G on Fizz EXT network. Not sure what I can do? I really need coverage while I travel here.

What coverage did you choose when u subscribe? If you choose Quebec. It won’t work outside unless you have money in your wallet. Make sure your network sertings are set to automatic and roaming is activated12

Have you rebooted your phone? I'm in Ontario for Christmas as well and had to reboot for everything to work. I haven't really made calls, but texting and data are working fine. I've seen data showing as unavailable a couple times after rebooting but all I had to do was flip airplane mode on and off for it to come back.11

Fire off a message to Fizz. In the meantime, there’s a few Fizz EXT networks - try all of them.11

I’ve seen some people report problems when they connect to a partner network. Like @Jonathan said, when I have problems with my data, seitching the phone to air plane mode usually works, and it might be worth rebooting the phone. If nothing works, you can try manually selecting what network your phone should connect to and try to find out one that works.8

I appreciate everyone’s suggestions... I do have the Canada plan, and have rebooted several times as well as flipping airplane mode on and off. The issue I described above is when I manually select the only Fizz EXT selection that shows as receiving any signal. With automatic network selection on, it fails to get any service (phone reports zero bars rather than No Service, not sure if there’s a difference). Same result on my wife’s phone. I’ll try to figure out how to report an issue with Fizz and see what happens.7

Thank you for the understanding.

An alternative: if you have an esim enabled device, check out Airalo. You can get 1GB of data valid for 7 days for 3$.0
