Has anyone tried Fizz's service in the US yet?

In a month I have to go to Houston for a week. Has anyone done any traveling in the States using Fizz? How'd it work out?

Search the forums - there are some people who have traveled to various locations in the US who reported a variety of issues, from having to restart the phone to manually selecting the roaming network.11

In upstate new york, AT&T was somewhat working. where i was staying they had only Verizon. Coverage map on fizz website said i would have reception (entered exact address) but i was never able to connect to the verizon network. I tried to manually select network and all but never connected. pretty disappointing.11

In upstate NY I had little issues to be honest. Data was somewhat slow but domestic networks often throttle foreign roamers so nothing major there. My trip was 6+ weeks ago bang in the middle of beta.8

That's not encouraging (Canada-US wide is the main reason I switched to Fizz).
If anyone has any experience, let us know (I'll be going in 10 days so will post my results).10 -
If the network does not improve, I suggest bringing a backup phone.8

Good suggestion. We'll actually have 2 (my wife's (Rogers) and we have a US phone (TracFone) but I kind of need to be reachable with my number which is why I wanted mine! Might have to make sure I give all the people that might need to reach me my alternate numbers as well.10

I went to New York and New Jersey and Pennsylvania a month ago. Service was great, mostly had AT&T and some T-Mobile. Lost signal briefly in PA mountains. Anywhere AT&T or T-MO have service, you'll have the same service LTE, etc.10

Thanks for the info Nicolas - that's much more encouraging.
I'm driving to Florida next week so will post an update on coverage along the way and when I get there.9 -
FYI, drive from Ottawa to Orlando and had coverage the whole way.
Getting 7 down / 8 up on speed test right now which is not great but I can live with.1
