NO LTE 4G, only 3G network available?
I strictly set APN parameters according to your guides on receiving my SIM card. However, after multiple tentatives and trying on my 2 sets of 4G phones, there is only 3G network with limited speed available, though those run on LTE with Fido or Petrocanada smoothly. This situation is really annoying. There seems to be a fraud propaganda. Where is the claimed LTE 4G network???

Where are you located? You will need to check the Coverage map (https://fizz.ca/en/coverage) for more information but Fizz is a Vidéotron brand and operates in the province of Quebec and in Ottawa (which borders the province). There is no promised LTE coverage outside of those areas in the coverage map.20

I am located at Montreal20

Is there an option to select the network manually on your phone? It might be picking up the wrong one automatically.19

Do your phones work on band 4? I have not had a problem with 4g on my phone when in Montreal.19

When there is no LTE in your area, it will go to 3G. Where are you located?19

thanks all for ur timely reply.
@Christian C. @ Peter M. i'am living in montreal, QC, where fizz primarily provide service.
@Danton P. i'm in fizz's network already, but the LTE just cannot work.
@Allison W. you mean i need to set on band 4 to fix this problem, how to do it?21 -
Hey All,
Lets first start with some basic troubleshooting, as you have said the APN has correctly been said and by the screenshot, it looks to me as it may be a MI Phone, would you be kind to provide me the model of the phone you have?
Knowing this, most MI Phones will only cover 1 if not 2 4G bands in North America, if you want to verify if your phone is compatible with 4G Frequencies, just let me know what phone you have so i can assist you better.
Awaiting your response.
Sam

Don't forget everyone, there is no VoLTE on Fizz, at least not yet.
So, I might be in the wrong, but you might need a data plan or at least some data block added to your plan in order to activate the LTE connection.

It's not that you can set the phone to band 4, it's that that is the dominant band used by Fizz network, and you're doing to have trouble getting decent service if your phone isn't able to use band 4 (aws), which needs both 1700 and 2100 frequencies. Without knowing which sort of phone you have, I can't tell you if your phone can make use of that band. Not all cell phones can make use of all bands. Eg. when I was in the UK I had to make do with 2G and 3G data because my phone wasn't compatible with the 4G bands of the carrier I was using.
Fido, for example, can use LTE bands 4, 7, and 17, which may be why you get LTE with Fido but not Fizz.22 -
one more question. everytime i insert the sim card and power, i receive a message from fizz with the full text below:
however, it is the ONLY message i receive, where is the other one?
Bienvenue chez Fizz!

Unfortunately, the Mi 5s just doesn't support 1700/2100 or 700 for 4G. Since it doesn't work with either of the frequencies that Fizz uses for 4G LTE, you won't be able to make use of it with your phone on their network. I think it's safe to assume that the other phone has the same lack of 1700/2100 or 700 frequencies. There isn't anything we or you or Fizz can do to make your phone compatible with their network.
But, you only have 1GB of data. Isn't 3G fast enough? How quickly do you need to burn through that 1G?22 -
Hi Ziyue- same here.. this whole time I'm getting 3G networking service and at times no internet... I'm trying to remain positive for FIZZ but stuff like this really hurts them... I'm contemplating if I should turn elsewhere. Were they not ready for the influx of customers?!10
