Cellular Data Network tab is missing from iPhone 5?
Hello everyone,
I recently joined the Fizz beta and I'm trying to configure the APN settings for my iPhone 5 following the guide: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/what-are-fizz-network-parameters-apn
I've updated my iOS to the latest version, however, the tab is still missing. Any solutions so I can use data on my phone?
Update: Tried on my iPhone SE as well and have the same problem. Both phones are unlocked and I have tried resetting the network settings on both devices but the issue still isn't fixed.

Hello,
Try to configure the APN settings using this location: Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options > Mobile Data Network.
Also, make sure the SIM card is in the iPhone when you try to do it and make sure your iPhone is unlocked.22 -
Hello,
I wanted to make sure because some iPhone have the Cellular data tab and other is called Mobile.
You can also try to reset the network settings by following this path : Settings > General > Reset > Reset Netowrk Settings.
If it's not working either try to reset the phone by following this path : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
If the reset is not working, the carrier you bought the phone from might not enabled these settings.
By exemple, the iPhone 7 I bought from Bell don't have the ability to modify the APN manually but the data is working.19 -
Thanks for letting me know, I am not a pro iPhone user as I am an Android user.
I'll let someone else more experienced with Apple product help you
Have a good one.18 -
Try to connect to WiFi and go to General -> About | General -> Updates, it should pull carrier updates, if there are any. That what did the trick for me, as well as updating to 12.119

Sorry, not trying to provide a solution. Just want to say that I have the same problem. Using an unlocked iPhone 5 (from Apple, not carriers), activated my sim yesterday (Nov 8), but still no data connection now. Title bar shows "Fizz LTE". Tried resetting the Network Settings and Phone. Unable to locate the VPN option. Tried the same on iPhone X but still the same. Voice and texts are fine though, just no data. I have subscribed 8GB plan with voice and text. Anxious to find a solution here. Thanks.20

Hi HoWai,
I can see that you have already installed the updates. After installing the new IOS you have to verify in "Settings / General / About" that the carrier is Fizz 34.1. If not, a popup should appear to let you download the Carrier bundle 34.1 Fizz.
Please make sure that your phone is connected to Wi-Fi when doing it.
Here for you.
Have a nice day!

Try plugging your phone into your computer and opening iTunes. Then check for any available updates. This has worked for some users on Reddit who where not able to receive carrier updates directly on their phone.20

I have an easy fix for your problem. Stop using iPhones! They are horrible. Lol, just kidding.
The iPhone 5 is not officially supported by fizz, because iOS 10 doesn't let you edit APN settings. Even if you jailbreak it and use the TetherMe cydia tweak, it won't work. So what you need to do is to install a custom APN profile. You can do that by opening this link with Safari on your phone.
As for your iPhone SE, you can do the same, or you can also upgrade your iOS and try again.

Jeffrey's link does work to get data working, but it still has the same issue as Macdja38's config; MMS pictures do not work (iPhone 5c)7
