Looks like Fizz is finally getting wifi calling with iOS 27 update. I see the wifi calling toggle with beta version. Though it’s disabled now , hopefully the stable release will have it.

I noticed it too. I only hope that it will be fully enabled soon, because it’s already enabled for Videotron and Freedom Mobile, but not with Fizz at this time.

I would like to have the Wi-Fi calling option because we don’t get good service at my school, and Wi-Fi calling would help a lot

Apparently, yes. Wi-Fi calling is coming to Fizz. This is the response from the chatbot.

    Hello Rocky,

    Thank you for your message.

I'm Rob, your conversational chatbot at Fizz. My goal is to make things easier for you by answering your questions and helping you along the way. I'm here to quickly find the best solution for you.

Wi-Fi Calling service will be available at Fizz soon. Stay tuned!

This feature is currently in development, and we'll be announcing its availability once it's ready to launch. In the meantime, if you have any other questions about our mobile services, I'm here to help!

I also asked if perhaps the shutdown would have something to do with the 3G shutdown, and this is the response.

"That's a thoughtful connection to make! While I can't speak to the specific business strategy or reasons behind feature development timing, I can confirm that the 3G network withdrawal did begin on July 31, 2025, and VoLTE compatibility has become essential for making and receiving calls on our network.

Wi-Fi Calling would certainly provide an additional way to make calls when cellular coverage is limited, which could be valuable alongside VoLTE. However, I don't have information confirming whether or how the 3G shutdown specifically influenced the development timeline for Wi-Fi Calling or RCS.

What I can tell you is that both features are priorities for us - RCS is already available for Android users, and Wi-Fi Calling is coming soon."
