My understanding is that Vidéotron, the company that owns Fizz and Freedom, does not offer pure fibre Internet. If it is sold, then I am unaware of it. Vidéotron has cable Internet that uses FFTN, or fibre to the node. Coaxial cable is used from the node box to the home, while fibre is used from the node to the Vidéotron ISP, and Fizz uses the same infrastructure. Freedom is outside of the Vidéotron territory, but works the same way by making agreements with cable providers like Rogers. The connection terminates with Freedom, or Vidéotron instead of terminating with Rogers.
Fizz, Freedom and Vidéotron still haven't fully rolled out 5G mobile service in their subscription areas. While it would be nice to see fibre to the home (FTTH) Internet from these providers, this may take a while. I prefer seeing these providers, especially Fizz, focus on improving their 5G and 4G service. I'm enjoying Fizz a lot, and I want it to stay competitive compared to the Big 3 providers!

I found a press release from just over a year ago (June 2025) that Fizz's parent company launched 2.5 GiGA symmetrical internet in parts of Quebec. Hopefully it will soon be made available elsewhere and also to Fizz customers. As of today, I see only Internet GIGA is available in my area through the parent company.
