Missing 10GB Plan Option During SIM Activation

I just signed up and ran into an issue. When I ordered my SIM, I was offered a $20 plan with 10GB. Now that I’m activating it, I only see a 2GB option and then it jumps to 25GB—nothing in between.
I’m on a tight budget, so that original $20 plan is what attracted me to Fizz. I’m currently with Public Mobile and was paying $20/month until it increased to $24, which is why I decided to switch. It’s frustrating that the more affordable option I signed up for isn’t available anymore.

    Good morning @incise32

Indeed plans can change between the time your sim arrives and you activate it.
As this forum is for customers, unfortunately there is nothing we can do to help you.
Log into your account and start a support chat with Fizz. Perhaps they can do something for you.
I have found Fizz support to be excellent.
    Cheers,
    Brad

This is unfortunately the case with Fizz. When you order a SIM from them by mail, the plans may have changed by the time the SIM arrives and you can activate it.

I don't know, why the Fizz order process for a SIM card even makes you choose a plan, because that obviously creates an expectation that you'll be getting exactly that plan which you may not. They should really change that on their web site.

Two workarounds if you really want to lock in a plan immediately:

    • Grab a SIM card from a partner store: https://fizz.ca/en/participating-stores/sim-card#stores
    • Do an instant activation of an eSim initially, then do a SIM card swap later after the physical SIM has arrived by mail. Keep in mind though, you can only port your number to your Fizz plan at initial activation, you can't port a number from another carrier into an existing plan.

Hi, you can wait to port the number and keep checking, prices fluctuate constantly.
Keep in mind that with Fizz, unused data rolls over and you can also get data gifted freely or with Fizz perks so a smaller data option might work for you as well
