Hello everyone! I am a new member of fizz, I just ordered my sim card and I am happy I finally did the switch to Fizz, my boyfriends was telling me how amazing fizz was, He made me realize how much I was overpaying with my actual cellphone provider. They used to be ok, basically the same price, but they started to hike their price and they just refuse to let me keep my old pricing. Oh well anyway, time to switch to fizz i guess! Anyway to introduce myself I live in Trois-Rivière and I work in multiple primary and high school!

I wonder if I better have the sim card in hand delivered before doing the phone number switch. Just to be safe I guess.

Also, I was thinking about not using the text message, I realize I don't really use it anyway, but I kept it just in case.

Anyone did the choice to not live with no ''official text message'' since almost everyone is using Messenger and other stuff. How is it to live with no real text message?

I am hoping the phone transfer will go smoothly I don't really want to have to call my other provider.

    Hi, welcome to the forum.
    If your plan doesn't include text messages, you can still receive them with no charge and send them with pay-per-use (Wallet) or by purchasing an addon if your in a zone that doesn't have it.

    Regarding the SIM card, you cannot transfer the phone number without it , unless you are transferring it to an eSIM.

    Hello, my plan doesn't include text messages. I've been using the wallet for about 9 months and haven't had any problems with texting.

    It sounds like you have ordered a physical sim card. When it arrives, the package will give instructions for the steps for the transfer. Importantly, the number needs to be active and able to receive and send a text to complete the switch to Fizz. You won't need to call the provider you're leaving.

    As for having a Fizz plan without text messages, as others have mentioned, you can add a bit of money to your Fizz wallet if you need to send any outgoing texts. It's only 5 cents for pay per use.

    I also switched cellphone providers due to the price hike as well. I find Fizz's rewards and loyalty program better than my previous cellphone provider.
