VoLTE on my device?

I'm a new Fizz customer and ported over my cell number and a wireless home phone number.

I know my cell is VoLTE compliant, but haven't been able to determine the status of my wireless home phone device (ZTE WF721).

This device is currently working on the Fizz network but I'm wondering if it will stop working at some point. As it's currently working does that mean it has VoLTE? I'm in Quebec and it looks like the rollout is happening faster here than other provinces.

I tried using the #TEST as suggested in this post but I got a message it couldn't go through as dialed. https://forum.fizz.ca/en/discussion/2659537/understanding-volte-and-its-implications

I have a contingency plan in mind but also want to know what to potentially expect. Thanks!

It seems that the ZTE WF721 is a 2G/3G-only device. As such, it will stop working when 3G is being shutdown in your area. Which is something all Canadian carriers are going to do.

    That's the answer.
It would have worked if you have VoLTE.

As the device isn't Fizz certified, I don't think support won't really help you with that.
Make sure VoLTE is turned on in your phone SIM settings and reboot before testing.

This wireless home phone device is not supported by Fizz on VoLTE.

You are good though while 3G is still available in your area. Once 3G is decommissioned, you will not be able to use it with Fizz and/or other carrier.

No this modem is too old for work now. Only 2g and 3g. it's not 4G LTE.

Thanks for the input! I figured this might be the case and was somewhat surprised it worked, which is why I wondered if it actually was VoLTE compliant.

So that I don't get caught without service, I will be ordering the TCL Flip phone (happy to see it's less expensive through Fizz than other retailers!) and use it with a Bluetooth to landline adapter.
