Hello!

I'm going in December in Europe (France and Italy and France again) in a short time frame (7 days). How should I proceed to buy the travel datas? If I buy them for France will they work in Italy too?

Thanks!

    Hi @FannieD
I just returned from France and Italy. The one gigabit gift from Fizz worked in both countries, but the country specific add-ons that I bought from Fizz were indeed country specific.
And FYI, they are instantly available once purchase, simply log into your account, over a wifi hotspot if need be, and purchase the addons.
    Cheers,
    Brad

If you have been a Fizz customer for the last few months, look in your perks section. You may find a Fizz gift "1 Gig of data for use in several countries". It is free to use and after activation valid for 7 days. If you have one of them perks, it would be perfect. Only activate just before you leave though, i.e. the last thing you do before going into airplane mode on your outbound flight.
If you don't have one, Fizz should be sending another one your way between Dec 2 and Dec 4, hope that's in time for your trip.

Fizz now makes an official statement on the website about what is covered by a travel addon (side from that free perk we had been talking about):

    What to expect:
    • One-time purchase.
    • Data in your destination country.
    • Calls / Texts incoming from anywhere; outgoing to your destination country and to Canada.

Also, the text addons are back. So, people from outside ON and QC, who don't get the wallet, are able to send outgoing texts again when travelling.

And last but not least, the data prices while travelling dropped significantly. To a point where they are competitive with all them Travel eSims. At least for European destinations. Not bad. The only travel destination that is still unreasonably expensive now is Canada. If you are on a province-only plan that is. Which is funny, I can use Fizz data without paying an arm and a leg when travelling to Europe but I have to keep using my Travel eSim when travelling out-of-province in Canada. What an upside-down world...

Yes! If you buy one Europe-wide SIM or eSIM, it will work in both France and Italy.
Most EU plans include free roaming, so you don’t need two separate data packs.

Just buy a European travel eSIM (like Orange Holiday or any EU regional plan), activate it in France, and it will work in Italy too.
