Canada + US plan use inside the US
So what exactly does the plan cover ($) while using the phone inside the US?
Do I pay separately for data, but have "unlimited" Call and Text? If so, do I need an "Add-on" for the data - how do I set that up?
If I rarely travel in the US but call there from BC am I better off with just the "BC" plan?

Make sure you have your roaming turned on before you go. I know it seems a bit scary as many carriers start charging roaming fees as soon as you get to the USA or sometimes just close to it, but Fizz is different.
With Fizz, your phone calls\texts\data will just work as they do in Canada with no extra charges. When you data runs out that's it - it just runs out, it won't send\receive data and there is no extra.

When you run out, or are close to it, log into your account and go to "manage" - from there you can select the country you want to buy a data add on for.

On a Canada+US plan, you get all the same perks when travelling in the US that you have in Canada. That means unlimited calls and texts and you use the same single 1G data bucket that you do in Canada. On the words, the 1G or any part thereof can be used in either country, it makes no difference.

I am having US and Canada plan, no worries, I travelled recently for a week to VA. Initially near the border it takes some time to catch US network. Initially it took Fizz ext as both Canadian and US networks available at border. Once you get a US network you are good to go… in fact I got better speeds with Verizon network in the VA.
Make sure to turn on data roaming.

If you need to make phone calls to US phone numbers on a regular basis, you should stick with the CAN+US plan as it includes unlimited calls from Canada to the US as well. It costs only $3/month extra as compared to the same BC-only plan. In BC, you can't use the Fizz wallet for PAYG, so your only other option on Fizz would be the International Calling addon which is $6, only has 60 minutes and expires at the end of your next month's billing cycle.
Keep in mind though, a lot of chat and social media apps also offer making calls on the app and as long as the other person uses the same app, they use only data, no calling features from your mobile carrier. And for those, it doesn't matter where the people you're calling are located.
