Do I need to send back the modem if I downgrade

Hi
I got the new modem with the 500mbs, but want to reduce the speed as I’m more often at my husband house. Will I need to return the « newer » modem and replace it the old model?

    You will keep the current modem

    If you downgrade, you keep the current modem!

    You get to keep the modem. The speed is adjusted based on what Internet speed you choose but the modem remains the same.
