Why does Fizz allow 3G connections?

My home is borderline Fizz and Fizz-Ext.

Why does it keep trying to connect to the Fizz network when the signal is so bad there is no data or phone calls?
Just because it "sees" the Fizz network doesn't mean it'll work.
It needs to "see" Fizz LTE.

It will allow until the service is removed, the removal of 3G is currently in process with Fizz and other telecom companies.

When there is no 3G, will my phone only connect to LTE?

I turned off the allow 2g setting.
I am using my own phone.
Do people that bough their phone from Fizz have this setting off?

The withdrawal of the 3G network will start July 31, 2025, for Fizz and several of its partners. All calls made with your Fizz mobile plan will then go through the LTE network thanks to VoLTE technology.
