no voicemail
I'm debating getting a plan without voicemail.
I don't use it now, I return missed calls without listening to vm. :-)
I know it doesn't cost much so I'll probably get it but I'm looking for pros and cons of not getting it.
Does anyone use blocked numbers anymore?
I used to but I don't because I never answer a blocked number so I don't block mine.
A downside of no vm is a blocked number that is not answered can't leave a message.
Do any businesses/etc use different outgoing and incoming #s because a missed call can't be returned then.

Honestly now days who needs voicemail? You get text, IM, email which are all available with official institutions and you have call logs that show incoming and missed calls.
I love the fact that I can finally disable voicemail completely with fizz.
It has always been such a hassle to get voice messages.0

Hi @bjlockie
I don't answer the phone if the number is not in my contact list - even if the call display says it is someone I expect (too many personators)
I block numbers I know for sure are spam.
I rely on voice mail for places such as medical doctors\dentists\car dealerships or any other business who call from numbers not in my contact list. They leave a voice mail and I call them back.
I have had it happen where there is a dead spot in service and I get a voice mail when my phone did not ring - without voice mail I would not have had any idea the business was trying to get ahold of me.
But for personal communications, I have no use for voice mail at all, as others have note there are so many other options.
Cheers,

Hi, some private clinics don't leave messages on voicemail or answering machines...

Voicemail is good for screening your calls.
Nowadays there are so many spam calls that I usually don't answer calls from numbers I don't know.
If the call is legit or important people will usually leave a message.
Without voicemail this type of call screening is not possible.1
