Does Fizz Automatically Close a Users Discussions?

I asked a question a while ago, and came back to see the discussion was already closed before I had a chance to respond or interact with it.
Does Fizz close discussions after a certain amount of time?
Shouldn't the user be the one to close a discussion?
This seems like poor forum functionality.

That is interesting, thank you.
So I guess that further makes me wonder if every response in a discussion is an answer?
That would actually make the response goal less tedious, but also make it less simple to see the actual answer to a discussion.
It was about a week and I returned with my question already closed, and the tag marked "answered".

Hi @andar1an
Yes, Fizz does this to keep the discussion cleaner. Sometimes, though, it can be closed by mistake, especially if there wasn’t really an answer to the question. If most users are disciplined, yes — but usually, they close it after a couple of days, so users still have the opportunity to do it themselves.
Moreover, your question https://forum.fizz.ca/en/discussion/2661807/what-is-a-tedious-task-for-expert-perk was more appropriate in the break room category (an open question)

The answer I intended was for someone to state "answering a question in the forum" lol, because it is tedious. The goal may be better suited to "ask a question in the forum". I imagine the vast majority of "new questions" have already been asked.

Yes it is.

The user cannot close his discussion, only a moderator has the right to close a discussion.

Moderators typically close a discussion after a Whizz comments on it.
Not sure if that really keeps the discussion "cleaner". It means that nobody can point out any inaccuracies in a Whizz posting nor do we ever learn what specifically resolved a customer's problem which would improve the quality of future comments made by fellow customers.2 -
Usually the post is closed by a mod if there is a satisfying answer of if the mods assessed the issue themselves. Sometimes only because some time passed by without getting any new comments
