How is the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus not supported on Fizz? It's compatible right out of the box and on so many other carriers. Any reason to force you to upgrade for no reason. 🙄

    Hi @FizzUser1ZU5A
This is a very difficult question, I read in some other post that the can be a problem with some kind of certificate or some code compatibility or something else.
    From this guide https://fizz.ca/en/faq/compatible-devices

If your phone is NOT VoLTE-compatible at Fizz but meets the other criteria below, you can activate a Fizz mobile plan. Keep in mind, however, that you will need to replace your phone with a VoLTE-compatible model in anticipation of the 3G withdrawal that will start July 31, 2025, or else none of your calls (including 911 calls) will go through when the 3G network is gone.

The other criteria (So long as the 3G network is available. Does not apply if your phone is VoLTE-compatible at Fizz):

    Phone model

The majority of Android phones sold in North America in the last five (5) years and an iPhone 5s or more recent model.

    Frequencies

A phone configured with LTE network preferences must support the dual frequency 1700/2100 MHz.

When you buy a new phone, the supported frequencies are usually listed in the technical specifications. If not, do a search on the Internet. There are sites that will confirm the frequencies supported by your phone once you enter its IMEI in their search engine.

I don't know if the support can give more details https://fizz.ca/en/support

Hello, this phone is from 2018 and discontinued, so it's probably not compatible with the Fizz network settings. Make sure you have the latest updates and test it with #8378 anyway. You never know..

Why VoLTE-compatible not the same for different provider?

Yes, the VoLTE standard should be the same.

Sadly, most phones are still not "certified" by Fizz which will cause issues for users in the coming 3g shutdown at the end of July, as I suspect most people have not and will not replaced their already VoLTE capable devices.
