Quebec coverage only and travel to other province

Hello,

I have a quebec only coverrage plan 14$/month for 20GB data only. I feel this plan is perfect for me since I mostly only need to use data.

I'm planning on travel to NB province. I'd like to ask that do I only have the choice of changing the plan to a Canada coverage or buy travel add-on?

If I change my plan, I won't be able to get the same great deals when I come back (currently the most relevant is $19 for 10GB, not that good). and for the travel add on in Canada, it's super expensive with $30 for 2GB.

Since I'll be only travel for less than 2 weeks. I'd like to ask is there any other way that I can use data out of Quebec?

Thank you,

With the prices you've listed, sounds to me that buying an add-on doesn't really make sense. I'd keep checking for a better price until you find a better deal or before freeze period starts, then change to Canada wide coverage.

Hopefully prices will go down and you'll be able to change again after your trip, but there's no way to really tell.

Well, it's actually very simple. OP has 20 GB for $14 now. If OP temporarily switches to a Canada-wide plan, OP can only go back to a $19 plan after their return and lose half of their data.

So, they end of paying $5 more per month. So, buying a travel add-on for $30 makes sense if they expect to travel to other provinces no more often than once every 6 months.

@yeyeye There are cheaper ways to get out-of-province data but they are not with Fizz and require paying an additional temporary plan. So, if you either have a dual-sim phone or don't care about losing incoming texts and your Fizz number going to voicemail for the duration of your trip, that may be an option. As per forum rules, I am not going to advertise any of those, one of the cheapest I am aware of are US$8 for 5 GB of data, provided your phone supports eSIM.

Feel free to send me a private forum message if you want more information.
