I already have a Fizz sim card in my cell phone. I thought I might be saving time by ordering the free eSim. But it turns out it doesn't work on my S10.

So how can I now change my account to use the Fizz sim card (physical) that's already in my phone?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi @inventorArtist

To respond, you need to have a physical SIM from FIzz, and contact the support https://fizz.ca/en/support

However, if you don't plan to change your phone by the end of July 2025, you will have a problem if you want to use it for calls. The S10 is not currently certified for VoLTE by Fizz and probably never will be.

If you decide not to proceed, you should know that you have a 15-day trial period to cancel and receive a refund.

    Here the guide https://fizz.ca/en/faq/compatible-devices

    Hello @elena code xzi4t ,

Thanks for the reply. I have tinkered around with my account and I found an activate my SIM button so I tried it. It let me use the newly created account and it worked.

I now have text, data and phone service.

I've used Fizz on my S10 before. The sim card is still in it from before when I used it.

You mean in July it's going to stop working?

If you are looking to change the sim associated with your account maybe the above guide may help.

    1. Sign in to your account. Go under My plans > Manage plan > Change SIM card to start. From there, you can go straight to the SIM activation step.
    2. Follow the on-screen steps. Select the plan for which you want to change the SIM and enter the activation code of your new SIM.
    3. Complete the security validation step. At this stage, you will be asked to enter the details of a payment method associated with your mobile plan. The idea is to validate your identity as the owner of the plan. You will not be billed for any amount. You may be asked to chat with an agent.
    4. Wait 30 minutes. Once your request to change your SIM is submitted, you’ll receive an email confirmation. A confirmation will also be sent by text, but you’ll only receive it if you still have your current SIM and phone. No action is required on your end. You simply have to wait for your mobile plan to be ready to be used with your new SIM. You’ll receive a second email when everything is ready.

Yes, it will stop working if your phone is not VoLTE certified and approved by Fizz, which the S10 is not.

    A snippet from the FAQ:

“The withdrawal of the 3G network will start July 31, 2025, for Fizz and several of its partners. All calls made with your Fizz mobile plan will then go through the LTE network thanks to VoLTE technology. That’s why it’s so important for your phone to be VoLTE-compatible at Fizz or else none of your calls (including 911 calls) will go through when the 3G network is gone. ”

    Cheers,

    Brad

So withdrawl of 3g should not affect me since the S10 plus is a 4g phone?

Fizz don’t support S10 for 4G Volte. If the list don’t change this phone stop working with Fizz.
